Utah Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy

The Utah Jump$tart Coalition and Mountain America are committed to providing Utah's youth with financial information needed to make good financial decisions. Utah consistently ranks in the top 5 in the nation for bankruptcy. As a member of Jump$tart, we are able to go into the schools, work with teachers and students to educate the youth about financial matters they'll use throughout their lives.

The Utah Jump$tart Coalition is an affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, along with several other states. Mountain America's Financial Literacy Initiative

Mountain America Credit Union has created a series of presentations which are aligned with the standards and objectives for the new high school general financial literacy course. The presentations include: Checking Account Management; Identity Theft Prevention; Financial Planning: Your Roadmap; Career: Labor You Love; Budget: Don't Go Broke; Savings and Investments: Your Money at Work; Credit: Buy Now, Pay Later; Insurance: Your Protection.

Beginning with the class of 2008, all Utah high school graduates will be required to take a general financial literacy course. We believe that education is the key to improving the financial literacy among our youth and are committed to adding value to the lives of young people by helping to improve their financial knowledge.
