The Dream Team: Soccer Surprise

The Mountain America Dream Team is back in action! This month, we’re surprising former professional soccer player Moises Fajardo and helping him pass his love of the sport on to the next generation.

Moises played professional soccer while living in Peru but had to give it up after immigrating to the United States. Luckily, he soon found something else that would drive him. He began coaching children’s soccer. Today, he coaches up to 12 teams at a time, often, paying for fees and equipment from his own pocket for players who can’t afford the expense.

The Dream Team caught up with Moises at Rio Tinto Stadium where he thought he was bringing his players to attend a Real Salt Lake soccer game. He was surprised when he was brought out on to the field and, to thank him for being such an inspiration, we presented him with soccer equipment and gift cards—enough to help keep his dream going for a long time. Check out the video above to see how Moises and his players reacted!

Mountain America is proud to partner with Fox 13 News to make dreams come true for members of our community! You can nominate a deserving person or family for a visit from the Dream Team by filling out the form here:  bit.ly/MACUdreamTeam
