“Street Dawg Crew of Utah” Founder Receives a Dream Team Visit

For many people, pets are like family members who provide love and protection. But for those experiencing homelessness or who are in low-income households, caring for their four-legged companions can be a financial burden.

To help these pet parents provide the best possible life for their furry friends, Margie Valera, founded Street Dawg Crew of Utah—an organization that believes no pet should go hungry or suffer.

Margie started the group by distributing bags of dog food out of her car. Now, what began as a small and simple act of kindness has grown into an organization that reaches far and wide. In 2022 alone, Street Dawg Crew of Utah dispensed tens of thousands of pounds of pet food, provided hundreds of animal vaccinations and partnered with local vet clinics to cover the cost of medical procedures—including spay and neutering and emergency treatments—for pets with struggling owners.

The crew operates with the support of volunteers and generous donations from the community. Margie herself often uses her own money to make sure these pets are properly looked after.

To honor Margie for all the hard work she does, her friend reached out to the Dream Team and asked them to pay Margie a surprise visit!
