Mountain America Credit Union Named One of Utah Business Magazine’s Fastest 50 Growing Companies
Fast 50 companies selected based on revenue growth and total revenue
On Thursday, August 25, 2022, Utah Business Magazine recognized Mountain America Credit Union as the 45th fastest growing company in the state in its annual Fast 50 awards. The Fast 50 recognizes Utah's fastest growing companies based on a combination of their total five-year revenue growth and total revenue. “We’re honored to be recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Utah,” said Sterling Nielsen, president and CEO of Mountain America Credit Union. “For more than 86 years, we have focused on providing our members with outstanding member experiences and helping them define and achieve their financial dreams.”
This is the second year in a row that Utah Business Magazine included Mountain America in its list of the fastest growing companies. Since making the Fast 50 last year, Mountain America has achieved a number of significant milestones, including the following:
- Surpassed 1 million members and $14 billion in assets to become the 12th largest credit union in the United States.
- Opened its 100th branch.
- The Small Business Administration (SBA) named Mountain America Utah’s No.1 overall small-business lender. Lending more than $90 million total, Mountain America provided 130 small-business owners with the capital needed to grow their businesses, hire more employees and help strengthen Utah’s economy.
- Launched a Spanish-language initiative to enhance the member experience for Spanish-speaking communities. The program rolled out eight Spanish-language hub branches that offer additional resources, marketing materials, signage in Spanish, as well as fluent Spanish speakers on staff.
- Donated more than 2,400 service hours during the month of September. Every year, each Mountain America employee receives paid time off to volunteer for a cause or charitable organization they wish to support. More than 700 employees volunteered and made a positive impact on their local communities.
