Mountain America Credit Union Marks Opening of Provo Branch With Community Celebration

The grand opening is free to the public and will include face painting, a football toss, corn hole, badminton and food

SALT LAKE CITY – On Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Mountain America Credit Union will host a public grand opening for its newest branch in Provo, Utah. This is the credit union’s second location in Provo. The celebration is open to the public and will feature a variety of free family-friendly games and activities including a barbeque with J-Dawgs, face painting, a football toss, corn hole and badminton. The Provo branch has a modern design with two levels, a glass staircase, a massive lobby complete with refreshment bar, and great views of the Rocky Mountains and LaVell Edwards Stadium. The building’s open design incorporates tributes to Provo’s history and welcomes members while fostering an engaging, inviting environment and experience.

“Grand openings like this are a great launching pad to build relationships with members and the community,” said Sterling Nielsen, Mountain America Credit Union’s president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to serving the residents of Provo and providing them with the financial tools necessary to achieve their financial dreams.”
Matthew Staples is the branch manager of the new Provo facility. He’s been with Mountain America for more than eight years and has served as a branch manager for the last three years. He began his career with Mountain America as a part-time teller while studying economics at BYU. Since graduating from BYU, he has worked his way through the ranks, spending time as an assistant branch manager before becoming a branch manager and opening the Springville, Utah, branch in 2019. As branch manager, Staples oversees the operations, personnel and sales at the branch to ensure it provides quality service while achieving its goals.

“Provo is a vibrant and booming city, and I know I speak for my entire team when I say that we’re proud to be part of the community,” said Staples. "We look forward to being an active participant in the community and serving the financial needs of our members.”
The new branch is located at 430 W. Cougar Blvd. The lobby and drive-thru are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Provo branch provides a wide range of financial products and services, including traditional savings accounts, insurance, investments, auto and RV loans, and a full array of mortgage loans and services. Mountain America also offers its innovative MyStyle® Checking account with customizable rewards, and as a federally chartered credit union, it provides an additional broad assortment of services, including real estate and business lending.

During the grand opening, members and the public are invited to tour the new building. Branch staff will also be available to answer questions and assist new members with financial products such as checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgages and a variety of other services.
