5 Ways to Simplify Your Financial Life
Hint: Start by becoming a Mountain America Credit Union member and download our mobile app.
Every year many of us make resolutions to get our finances in shape. Unfortunately, efforts to achieve these resolutions often fade by the time February appears on the calendar.
Mountain America is committed to helping you succeed and achieve your financial dreams. That’s why we’re constantly developing tools, products and services to assist our members in understanding their financial options and creating feasible plans.
Here are a few ways to simplify your finances with our tools and services:
1. Go mobile!
It’s a fact—life is hectic, and multitasking is essential to get things done. Mountain America’s mobile app was designed with this in mind. We know you have a lot on your plate and limited time. That’s why we made our mobile app your singular stop for everything financial. It’s user-friendly, fast and efficient.
Access your accounts, deposit a check, temporarily block or activate your credit card, log in securely, set up budgets, track financial goals, make payments and transfer money—all in one place. You can see your full credit card number, expiration date and CVV, meaning you can still get your shopping done even if you don’t have the physical card with you. Download our mobile app or test it out here to see how it can simplify your budget and banking needs.
2. Check your credit score
You can track your credit score, learn how it’s calculated and make plans to improve or maintain it—all right at your fingertips! Access your score for free at any time; updates are made once per quarter. Learn more about your credit score.
3. Try a balance transfer
Looking to transfer a high-interest credit card balance to a low-interest Mountain America credit card? You can easily do that on our mobile app. This move can potentially save you money on interest.1
4. Switch to autopay billing
Using autopay is a great way to simplify your finances. Your loan payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account when they’re due, preventing missed payments and late fees. Plus, you’ll save time and reduce the hassle of managing multiple bills each month. Set up autopay by visiting a local branch or contacting the service center. Or if you prefer to manage payments yourself, initiate automatic recurring transfers right from the mobile app.
5. Automate your savings
Building your savings can be easy with the right resources. By using automation, you can grow your savings effortlessly. There are two main ways to automate your savings:
- Set up a recurring transfer to your savings account timed with your paydays.
- Split your direct deposit from your employer. Sign up to have a portion of your paycheck sent to your savings account (either a specific amount or a percentage of your net pay). By putting a part of your paycheck directly into savings, you won’t have to worry about remembering to do it manually each time or accidentally spending it, building your savings consistently over time.
