Q: What do I do if there is an error on my credit report?

We recommend you file a dispute with the credit bureau to reconcile any questionable items reporting. You can fill out a dispute on Experian's website. Once you have filed a dispute, Experian will begin its research. They have 30 days to respond before the item is automatically deleted from your report. The dispute process is specific to Experian.

You should also file a dispute through TransUnion and Equifax if the same error is reporting to them as well.
