Q: How do I split money with Zelle®?

To split money with others, tap Send Money with Zelle® in the Mountain America app.*
  1. Select Split.
  2. Find and add friends using the search bar: enter their first and last name, email, or U.S. mobile number. If you're with them in person, you can also add them by scanning their Zelle® QR code.
  3. Your friend will then be added to your suggested contacts list.
  4. Select the contacts you would like to split money with. You can choose as many as you would like. If your friend isn’t enrolled yet, you can only send a request using their email address.
  5. Next, enter the total, and let Zelle® do the math for you. Then select the account and tap Review.
  6. Add a note to describe the transaction, if preferred.
  7. Now, tap Split at the bottom of the screen.

*Zelle® availability based on account eligibility. Account must be in good standing for 90 days. U.S. checking or savings account required to use Zelle®. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes and do not incur transaction fees through the Mountain America mobile app. Payment requests to persons not already enrolled with Zelle® must be sent to an email address.
