Report Bank Fraud
If you believe you have been the victim of identity theft or if you receive a communication from Mountain America that appears suspicious, visit a branch or call our service center at 1-800-748-4302.
Additional steps to take
- Visit a Mountain America branch or call 1-800-748-4302 to add a code word to your account.
- Review your credit report through Credit Score Plus in online banking or our mobile app. Inspect your report carefully for any suspicious activity as it relates to accounts, charges, inquiries or delinquencies.
- Place a fraud alert on your credit report and notify the credit bureaus of any discrepancies at equifax.com, transunion.com and experian.com.
- Turn on CreditLock (under Security & Settings in digital banking) to lock your Experian credit report and get real-time email alerts on unauthorized activity.
- Carefully review your transaction history for any unauthorized or unrecognized transactions. If you find a charge you would like to dispute, promptly file a claim through online banking or our mobile app.
Watch out for phishing!
Do not respond to suspicious emails or text messages that contain links or ask for personal information—they might be phishing. If you have received what appears to be a phishing email or text, do not reply to the message or click on any links. Instead, forward emails as an attachment to phishing@macu.com and forward texts to 385-336-0337. We will review the messages and take appropriate action.
