Mountain America Supports Idaho Financial Literacy Day at the Capitol

Every year, the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition (IFLC) sponsors “Financial Literacy Day at the Legislature.” On February 24, 2020, IFLC members gathered at the Idaho State Capitol building to bring financial literacy efforts to the attention of Idaho’s leadership.  Angela Phillips, public relations manager at Mountain America, currently serves as the IFLC President-Elect. She was joined by Karissa Niece, business development manager, to help promote Mountain America’s financial education resources.

“Now more than ever, we need to spread awareness of how critical it is to be financially educated,” says Phillips. “The Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition is here to foster collaboration and communication among those of us trying to promote and support more financial education across the state.”

This year, participating organizations included IDeal Idaho College Savings Program, Northwest Credit Union Association Foundation, Women’s and Children’s Alliance, Idaho State Tax Commission, Mountain America Credit Union, Idaho Attorney General’s Office, Idaho Department of Finance, Ada Community Libraries, Mountain West Bank, and Idaho Career and Technical Education.  We had a great crowd and a lot of great conversations about financial literacy efforts across Idaho.
