Over 2,200 Winter Coats Donated to Pocatello Schools from Mountain America and Operation Warm
In partnership with Operation Warm, Mountain America Credit Union is gifting 2,200 brand-new winter coats to students attending Pocatello schools. Every child at Tendoy Elementary School received a free coat on February 10, and an additional 2,000 coats will be given to children in need at other schools across the Pocatello School District.
In Idaho, 14% of children live in poverty. Operation Warm provides warmth, confidence and hope to children in need. Beyond the excitement of a brand-new winter coat, the donation can have a multiplier effect: removing distractions that come with being cold and damp, means children arrive at school safe, warm and ready to learn.
For three seasons, Mountain America has committed to a charitable donation for every first-down and 3-pointer completed by the Idaho State Bengals football and men’s basketball teams. This season, Operation Warm is the recipient of these donations. With the end of the basketball season approaching, Mountain America and Operation Warm are thrilled to make a difference to thousands of Pocatello children.
