Medicare Made Easy | Guiding You Forward

If you or someone you love is approaching retirement age, this is the podcast episode you need to watch! When it comes to retirement, two things tend to strike fear in the hearts of most people—social security and Medicare.

Luckily, Sabrina Vienneau, program manager for the financial education team at Mountain America Credit Union, is in the podcast lounge today. Sabrina holds a health and life insurance license in Utah and knows a bit about Medicare and what it can mean for someone nearing 65 years of age.

Tune in to this episode of the Guiding You Forward podcast to learn about:

  • How to qualify for Medicare.

  • The different parts of Medicare—have you ever heard about the “donut hole?”

  • Medigap insurance.

  • The cost of Medicare.

Medicare can be overwhelming. There are quite a few rules and regulations and it can be difficult to navigate it all. The question that Sabrina gets asked most often has to do with how you qualify for Medicare.

Watch the video above as she explains how Medicare works and the three things you need to qualify.

When you become eligible for Medicare, you’ll have to decide which part (or parts) you’ll choose—Part A, Part B, Part C and/or Part D. Sabrina explains each part and gives examples of instances when you may want to choose one over the other.

What about Medigap insurance? The different parts of Medicare provide good coverage, but there are gaps in the coverage in certain situations. Medigap is supplemental insurance, sold by private companies, that can help plug these holes. Sabrina explains how these policies work and what they may cover.

Then there’s the cost. There are a lot of variables that factor into the cost of Medicare for each individual. Sabrina breaks it down so you have a better idea how much you may be paying.
