With this partnership, Mountain America committed to donate $50 for every three-point shot made by BYU men’s basketball and $500 for each field goal made by BYU football during the past season. The total donation was $17,250.
With 225 three-point shots made, Mountain America presented $11,250 to the America Red Cross at the final men’s basketball game on March 2, 2019. An additional $6,000 was presented to the American Red Cross at the BYU football game on November 17, 2018.
“The American Red Cross is so grateful for the support of Mountain America Credit Union. Their generous donation enables our local communities to become better prepared and more resilient in the face of disasters large and small,” says Erin Trenbeath-Murray, chief development officer at the American Red Cross-Utah and Nevada Region.
“The American Red Cross plays a crucial role in helping families and communities rebuild after an emergency,” says Sterling Nielsen, chief executive officer at Mountain America Credit Union. “Each day, they provide critical support to those affected by house fires and other disasters in conjunction with local emergency agencies.”
