Mountain America Credit Union Hosts Community Celebration for New Branch in Spanish Fork
Grand opening festivities at the event included food from J Dawgs, cornhole, face painting, a money machine and a Bakcou Electric Scooter giveaway
On Saturday, May 6 Mountain America Credit Union held a public grand opening for its new branch in Spanish Fork, Utah, with a variety of family friendly activities including food from J Dawgs, face painting, balloon artist, cornhole, oversized games, those that opened a new account earned time in a money machine and entered to win a Bakcou Electric Scooter.
Within the Spanish Fork branch, visitors will see features like murals painted by local artists that tell the story of the history and growth of Spanish Fork. The building design includes an open space that promotes a positive member experience while providing a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.
“Branches are where we make a difference. It's where we change lives,” said Sterling Nielsen, Mountain America Credit Union’s president and chief executive officer. “People can do a lot of traditional banking functions on their phones and online, but when it comes to changing lives, it’s that human interaction that makes all the difference.”
The new Spanish Fork branch is located at 1308 N. Canyon Creek Parkway. The lobby and drive-through are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the grand opening, members and the public were invited to tour the new building. Branch staff were available to answer questions and assist new members with financial products like checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgages and a variety of other services.
“I’m happy to be back in my hometown and working with so many friends and others that influenced my life and helped shape me into the person I am today,” said Ty Curtis, the facility’s branch manager. “Spanish Fork is a growing, thriving community and a wonderful place to live. This branch will benefit the people of Spanish Fork for years to come.”
Curtis began his career at Mountain America while attending college at Utah Valley University. Upon graduation, the credit union promoted him to assistant branch manager. Shortly after, Curtis became branch manager in Springville, Utah, and then transferred to his current branch manager role in Spanish Fork. As branch manager, he is responsible for training and developing team members and ensuring that the team executes the credit union’s mission of helping members define and achieve their financial dreams.
The new Spanish Fork branch provides traditional savings accounts, insurance, investments, auto and RV loans, and a full array of mortgage loans and services. As a federally chartered credit union, Mountain America provides an additional broad assortment of services including real estate and business lending.
