This is the first air show at Hill Air Force Base in four years; tickets are free to the public

Mountain America Credit Union announced its support of the Utah Air Show: Warriors Over the Wasatch, one of the country’s largest air shows, as presenting sponsor. The event will be held on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Hill Air Force Base in Davis County, Utah. This is the first air show at Hill Air Force Base in four years, and organizers anticipate it will draw between 650,000 and 700,000 visitors.

Tickets to the show are free. Gates open at 8 a.m., with the show starting at approximately 9:45 a.m. and ending at approximately 4:30 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to support our military personnel and help highlight their dedication, skill, expertise and the sacrifices they make to ensure we can enjoy the freedoms that make the United States of America the greatest country in the world,” said Sterling Nielsen, president and CEO of Mountain America Credit Union. “We’re dedicated to improving the lives of our members, and the air show provides an ideal opportunity to connect with our military heroes, their families and members of the community we serve.”

The Utah Air Show will provide fans with an up-close view of some of the nation’s best pilots, including the world-famous Thunderbirds. These fighter pilots tour the world to perform impressive maneuvers that highlight their training and experience, with a focus on showcasing the skills and expertise that embody the United Stated Air Force.

Utah Air Show organizers promise an event filled with excitement, thrills and breathtaking flying. In addition to the Thunderbirds, attendees can enjoy a number of family-friendly activities including:

•    A salute to the United States’ historical air power.
•    A collection of U.S. aircraft used in the last war.
•    Experiences that highlight the size and mass of cargo lifters.
•    Up-close views of the U.S. Army’s agile and destructive helicopters.

Located in northern Utah, Hill Air Force Base is the Air Force's second-largest base by population and geographical size. It is the largest single-site employer in Utah with an economic impact of more than $3 billion annually. The base consists of more than 1,000,000 acres and 1,700 facilities providing support for the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, Air Force active duty 388th and Reserve 419th Fighter Wings. Its 50 mission partners employ more than 27,000 personnel.

The base’s first air show took place on September 30, 1956, as part of the dedication of its new runway. Since then, the base hosts an air show every two years, with the exception of 2020 when organizers canceled the show due to COVID-19.
