Mountain America Credit Union Partners With Utah’s Hogle Zoo to Host Summer Safari Series
Summer Safaris happen every Wednesday in June at select Mountain America branches; the first 50 visitors receive a free ticket to Hogle Zoo.
Back by popular demand, Mountain America Credit Union and Hogle Zoo are partnering to present the 2023 Summer Safari series which brings zoo animals to select Mountain America branches where the public can meet the animals face-to-face, learn more about them, and play fun financial education games.
“For the second year, Mountain America is pleased to partner with Utah’s Hogle Zoo to provide opportunities for the community to see and learn about these amazing animals,” said Sharon Cook, chief marketing officer at Mountain America Credit Union. “Through the Summer Safari events, children can also play interactive games that teach them basic money principles as they pretend to operate a zoo.”
Hogle Zoo has been a favorite family destination for more than 90 years and is located on 42 acres of natural hillside in Emigration Canyon. Every Wednesday in June from 1:30–3:30 p.m., Hogle Zoo team members plan on visiting the following Mountain America branches:
- Wednesday, June 7—West Valley 35th South Branch (Address: 2850 W. 3500 South, West Valley City, Utah 84119)
- Wednesday, June 14—Daybreak Branch (Address: 5382 W. Daybreak Pkwy., South Jordan, Utah 84009)
- Wednesday, June 21—Provo Branch (Address: 430 W. Cougar Blvd. Provo, UT 84604)
- Wednesday, June 28—Centerville Branch (Address: 298 N. Market Place Dr., Centerville, Utah 84014)
"At Utah's Hogle Zoo, we work to be a zoo for the entire state, which means working with our partners in communities across Utah to create champions for wildlife,” said Angelina Kump, M.Ed., Academic Programs Supervisor, Utah's Hogle Zoo. “Visiting these Mountain America Credit Union branches and team members gives us the opportunity to connect people to wildlife in a new way.”
Animals featured at the Summer Safari won’t be big, scary, or dangerous. Instead, zoo employees showcase smaller animals that attendees can take pictures with like desert and leopard tortoises, salamanders, non-venomous snakes, and tarantulas. With each interaction, participants can learn about what the creatures eat, where they live, and other fun and interesting information. The first 50 attendees at each event receive a free ticket to the zoo.
In addition to seeing zoo animals, Mountain America’s financial guides will be on hand to lead financial education games and answer questions about financial products and services, including traditional savings accounts, insurance, investments, auto and RV loans, and a full array of mortgage loans and services. As a federally chartered credit union, Mountain America provides an additional broad assortment of services including real estate and business lending.
