Helping a Local Exotic Bird Rescue Fly
Denyce Brown has always had a soft spot for birds. Not only is she the owner and operator of Ronie’s For the Love of Birds—which sells supplies such as cages, toys and feed—she also runs an exotic bird rescue.
Since the pandemic began, Denyce has seen an increased number of tropical birds being dropped off at her rescue. She is currently caring for 51 birds with more arriving every week. Many of the birds’ owners simply could no longer take care of their feathered friends because of sickness and shifting lifestyles and jobs related to COVID-19.
It’s no small feat to keep the bird rescue afloat—Denyce funds it through the profits from the store. That means there is less money for her own needs. But Denyce is dedicated to these beautiful animals and believes they are worth saving.
Watch to see how the Dream Team swooped in to help her store and rescue program fly during these difficult times!
