The Ghost Rider of Clinton Has a Heart of Gold
The Dream Team pays a special visit to the man known as The Ghost Rider of Clinton.
The Ghost Rider of Clinton may look like a villain, but he is a hero to many in his community! Who is the man behind the mask? Kelly Hertel has made it his mission to bring joy and to give back by creating a fangtastic Halloween experience at his home and around town!
When he’s not sporting armor and a skull face around town, Hertel builds his spooky sets for his Halloween display, assists disabled children and raises money for the food bank.
Through his all-out Halloween décor and community outreach, Hertel hopes to spread his message to not judge others based on appearances.
“I wanted to be the Ghost Rider because it was a character that people would automatically judge before they actually got to know him,” he said.
The Dream Team heard about Hertel’s efforts and wanted to thank him for his incredible accomplishments. Parents say his message and spirit mean the world to them and their families.
While visiting Hertel’s at-home spook alley, Nicura Thompson said, “The fact that he allows for a certain time for the special needs community to come out and enjoy it without extra exposure to everyone else ... it’s great.”
The Dream Team patiently waited outside Hertel’s impressive, Halloween-decorated home to pay him a special visit! The incredible display took two months to set up and is the perfect home for the Ghost Rider! Watch the video above to see the rest of his story.
