Happy and smiling with 2-year-old twin boys bouncing off the walls—life is good for the Van Nortwick family. But what you don’t know is that their journey hasn’t been an easy one. They’ve endured many tough days and tearful nights.
It all began when they learned that one of their twin boys was born with some of his organs outside of his body. A life-threatening medical condition that meant months of sleepless nights, visits to see their son in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and many surgeries, including open-heart surgery.
This new little family’s world was flipped upside down once more when Sean, the father, was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to face six months of chemotherapy treatments.
Through it all, they never lost their courage or hope.
Nominated for a visit, The Miracle Makers stopped by their home to deliver a surprising dose of sunshine—the ultimate beach day! Now the Van Nortwick bunch can relax in San Diego, making new memories that will last a lifetime.
