My Member Story: Nadene Nelson
Everyone at Mountain America Credit Union loves to do everything we can to improve our members’ finances. For some, that means improving a credit score. For others, it may be creating a solid retirement plan.
For Nadene, it was stepping in when her world crashed down.
Nadene’s husband had always loved the 1957 Chevy—the classic lines, stand-out detailing and engine that purrs like a kitten. When he turned 57, they agreed the time was right to buy the dream car. Unfortunately, in just a few short months, Nadene was a widow—and deep in debt.
She found out about the state of their finances just before she lost her husband. He told her to sell the car to pay everything off. But, when it came down to it, she just couldn’t part with it.
A friend recommended that she investigate refinancing her mortgage. Nadene went straight to Mountain America and was so impressed with how she was treated and how fast and easy the whole process was that she even recommended this option to her daughter.
We’re so happy that Nadene found a way to hang on to something that means so much to her. Watch the full story in the video above—and lay your eyes on that beautiful car!
