Mountain America Announces Friends of GIANT Steps as This Season's Final "Pass it Along" Recipient

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1 in 59 children in the United States have autism. Studies have shown that early intervention for toddlers with autism can help reduce behavioral issues and improve their cognitive ability, with most symptoms surfacing between 12 and 18 months old. Friends of GIANT Steps is a non-profit that supports the GIANT Steps autism preschool.

Located inside Utah County public elementary schools, GIANT Steps focuses on children ages 3-5 years, helping toddlers develop critical social and behavior management skills prior to entering kindergarten. GIANT Steps provides children with an individualized plan that includes socialization, alternative communication methods, and picture-based learning. Additionally, they help ensure families maintain strong relationships and support systems by offering supplementary programs such as field trips, Daddies Day activities, and parent date nights.

Mountain America Credit Union and the Utah Jazz are pleased to announce Friends of GIANT Steps as this season’s final “Pass it Along” recipient.  The Pass it Along, a program that recognizes local nonprofits making a difference in the community, has donated $180,000 to more than 30 local nonprofits since its inception in 2013. Pass it Along nominations for the 2020-2021 season will open this coming fall on www.utahjazz.com
