There’s something about a beautiful stone backsplash or newly tiled shower—you just have to run your hand over the surface. The team over at Anasazi Imports in St. George, Utah must be doing that all day long!
Anasazi Imports, which is proudly represented in the Parade of Homes of Southern Utah, offers the highest quality natural stone, mosaics, porcelain and ceramic tile. In addition to offering a large, unique inventory, they also pride themselves in providing stellar customer service—something that keeps their customers coming back again and again.
Husband and wife, Adam and Ashlee Clough, along with their partner, Mycal Brown, bought the existing business last year after retiring from their own successful careers. They initially chose a bank to handle their business finances but soon found out it didn’t work for them—too many fees, international wire transfers had to be done in-branch (which they did regularly) and, ironically, the customer service wasn’t up to par.
To address these concerns, they decided to try Mountain America Credit Union, where they had their personal financial accounts for over three years. This is when they met business advisor Jake Carlen. Jake helped get the Anasazi business accounts and services set up and, according to Adam and Ashlee, is now an indispensable member of their team.
They can now complete international wire transfers from their own computer and Jake is very responsive, usually answering their questions within one business day.

After this initial success, Adam and Ashlee have since transferred their POS system to Mountain America. This has made a huge impact on their business, saving them thousands of dollars in merchant fees!
One other big difference? Business credit cards for their employees. Because they weren’t able to qualify for a working capital loan, Jake helped them qualify for a large credit limit. They split that limit between several cash back credit cards to allow employees to have their own company card with their name on it. It’s so much easier to pick up gas and supplies right when they are needed and for the management team to track the purchases.
And Adam and Ashlee are reaping the benefit of cash back on those purchases!
