No Ordinary Mechanic! A Dream Team Surprise

For the last few years, the Mountain America Dream Team has been working hard to give back to our community and impact the lives of others in a positive way. During these recent challenging times, the team has been able to adapt and continue our work while practicing social distancing—this time bringing a big surprise to Pleasant Grove resident Lucy Nelson.

Recently, Lucy, a single mom of two boys, bought what she thought was her dream car—it was used, but still in good condition. At least that’s what she thought. It turns out, the vehicle’s transmission is shot and would cost over $3,300 to repair. Unable to afford the repairs, she has been walking to work each day while trying to find a way to come up with the money she needs to fix her car.

Lucy’s aunt, Sally Shepherd, contacted the Dream Team to see if we could give Lucy a hand. Sally got Lucy on a ZOOM call, telling her she found a mechanic that may be able to help. Lucy was shocked to realize she was really speaking to Big Budah and the Mountain America Team!

Overcome with tears of joy, she received the wonderful news that the Dream Team was going to pay the entire cost of her repair bill. Now Lucy can drive to and from work, giving her more time with her sweet family.

Mountain America is proud to partner with Fox 13 News to make dreams come true for members of our community! You can nominate a deserving person or family for a visit from the Dream Team by filling out the form here: bit.ly/MACUdreamTeam
