Mountain America Announces the Dyslexia Center of Utah as This Season's First "Pass it Along" Recipient
The National Center for Learning Disabilities estimates that one in five children in the U.S. have a learning and attention issue, with dyslexia being the most common language-based learning disability. Without treatment, dyslexia can cause negative and self-critical thoughts, depression, lack of enjoyment and anxiety.
The Dyslexia Center of Utah is a nonprofit tutoring center that helps children struggling with reading, writing and spelling by helping all students receive the opportunity to receive services that will improve their academic ability and set them up for future successes. From private tutoring sessions to group tutoring sessions, the Dyslexia Center of Utah assess each learner individually and provides a tailored plan.
Mountain America Credit Union and the Utah Jazz are pleased to announce the Dyslexia Center of Utah as this season’s first “Pass it Along” recipient. Pass it Along, a program that recognizes local nonprofits making a difference in the community, has donated $185,000 to over 30 local nonprofits since its inception in 2013. This season, a total of $25,000 will be awarded to five local charities. Fans can nominate deserving nonprofit organizations for a $5,000 donation and television exposure by visiting utahjazz.com.
